So before I suggest the list of foods that Paleo allows, I would like to mention couple general rules to be followed on the Paleo diet.

When going shopping for groceries:

  1. Choose real, unprocessed food free of additives and chemicals
  2. Choose grass-fed, pasture raised, organic, local, WHOLE produce when possible
  3. The local farmer’s market is your best bet
  4. Choose Omega 3 source of foods over Omega 6

When creating a menu:

  1. Dish should consists of 2/3 plant based foods and 1/3 animal foods
  2. Have a “rainbow” on the plate  (the more colorful the dish the better)
  3. Have a variety of different foods every day
  4. Keep things simple, preserve the wholeness of the foods when possible

The fats give our body energy that it needs to work properly. They also keep skin and hair healthy, help in absorptions of vitamins A, D, E, and K, fill the fat cells and insulates the body to help keep us warm. The fats our body gets from food give the body essential fatty acids called linoleic and linolenic acid.
